Hail, Damaging Winds Possible: Davidson Weekend Weather

Scattered afternoon storms are expected this afternoon and may produce hail and damaging winds in the area, forecasters warn.

DAVIDSON, NC — Sunshine will likely give way to scattered thunderstorms that could bring hail and damaging winds to the Lake Norman area, the National Weather Service said Thursday.

The main threat of the storms popping up this afternoon will be cloud-to-ground lightning, NWS said in a hazardous outlook weather bulletin.

Threat of summertime storms continues throughout the weekend, with chances of afternoon rain Friday and Saturday, when the daily high is expected to reach 88 degrees.
