Horsepower Restriction Request Withdrawn

On November 10, 2020, the Davidson Board of Commissioners discussed a request from the Davidson Pointe Home Owners Association (HOA) which sought a master plan amendment to remove the 10-horsepower restriction on all watercraft docked at the Davidson Pointe marina located on Lake Davidson. Attorney Lisa Valdez represented the HOA and discussed with the board and staff the request to eliminate the horsepower restriction. The board of commissioners agreed to continue with the passive recreation policy direction for Lake Davidson and decided to take action on the request at the December 8 meeting.

The week following that meeting, town leadership was contacted by Ms. Valdez on behalf of Davidson Pointe withdrawing the request. The board still plans to discuss this item at the December 8 meeting to bring closure to the policy direction and finalize action steps to best support that direction.
