Lake Norman's July 4th Forecast: Will Fireworks Be Rained Out?

DAVIDSON, NC — Independence Day is just days away, which means things will start looking red, white, blue and, unfortunately, gray thanks to cloud cover expected in the Lake Norman region on Wednesday, July 4.

In fact, cloud cover and pop-up showers will be part of the forecast just about every day between now and the holiday, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday, we’ll see a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Conditions will improve by Monday, when we should see sunny skies and a balmy high of about 93 degree. Monday and Tuesday should be great days for being outdoors, however rain creeps back into the forecast by July 4. There’s a 30 percent chance of rain all day long.

Sunny, with a high near 92. North northeast wind around 7 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind 3 to 5 mph.
Sunday (July 1)
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 91.
Sunday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74.
Monday (July 2)
Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.
