Lake Norman's Weekend Weather: Chances For Afternoon Showers

DAVIDSON, NC -- Rain continues to be a possibility for the Lake Norman region leading into the weekend, as the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the piedmont of North Carolina Thursday.

Scattered thunderstorms could move through the region this afternoon, bringing with them dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, with possible wind gusts, according to NWS.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 100. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Friday - July 7

A slight chance of showers between 10am and 3pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. West southwest wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday - July 8

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
