Man Charged For Having A Controlled Substance At Jail: DPD
Jonathan Boykin was charged with concealed carry violation and possession of a controlled substance in jail premises, Davidson police said.

DAVIDSON, NC — A Charlotte man was arrested in Davidson this past week and charged with a misdemeanor concealed carry violation and possession of a controlled substance in jail premises, according to the most recent round of police data.
Jonathan E. Boykin, 26, was arrested Jan. 12 along Interstate 77, according to the Davidson Police Department.
Also arrested last week in Davidson was Guy Calvin Bostian, 21, who was charged with assaulting a female and simple assault on Shearer Road.

In addition to the two arrests, DPD also recorded eight crime incidents last week, which included larceny on Griffith Street, a vehicle break-in on Southwest Drive and two cases of damage to personal property.
When it came to citations issued by officers last week, there was an uptick in speeding violations, according to police data. DPD issued 24 citations overall, 20 for various offenses that do not require a court appearance. Those included:

Citations requiring a mandatory court appearance include:
- Troy Allan Taylor, 40, cited Jan. 8 on I-77, charged with displaying a revoked tag
- Craig Obrian Dulin, 27, cited Jan. 10 on I-77, charged with driving with a revoked license
- Montavis Evans, 24, cited Jan. 10 on I-77, charged with driving with a revoked license
