Steel Magnolias, Jazz: Davidson, Cornelius This Weekend

DAVIDSON, NC — From the Davidson Community Players’ presentation of Steel Magnolias to the Queen’s Feast restaurant week and Sunday jazz, there are plenty of fun events happening around Lake Norman this weekend. If you're looking for something to do, Patch has you covered.

Temperatures will remain mild going into the weekend, with highs around the 88 predicted for the entire weekend. However, the pleasant temperatures will be paired with cloudy skies and, likely, rain that National Weather Service says could become severe at times. By Saturday, skies will grow cloudy with at least a 50 percent chance of rain for most of the day. Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Sunday, too, according to the NWS.

Here are five events to check out around Davidson and Lake Norman this weekend:

• Davidson Community Players: Steel Magnolias — Duke Family Performance Hall, Davidson College, July 19 - July 29.
• Davidson Farmers' Market — Saturdays, 8 a.m. - noon. Located next to Town Hall between Main & Jackson Streets.
• Davidson Tour de Food Foodie Tour — Brick House Tavern, 209 Delburg Street, Davidson. Saturday, July 21. 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
• Queen’s Feast Restaurant Week — More than 125 restaurants throughout the region are offering great deals on 3-course meals. Runs July 20 - July 29.
• Sunday Jazz Jam — Old Town Public House, 21314 Catawba Avenue, Cornelius. Sunday, July 22, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
