Town Of Davidson Launches App To Engage With Residents
Connecting with town officials has gone high-tech with a new cell phone app.

DAVIDSON, NC -- Have you ever wondered how to report a stray dog sighting in Davidson, or where to find the latest town meeting notes? Well, thereβs now an app for that.
The Town of Davidson launched a new mobile app Thursday aimed at making it easier for citizens to engage with officials.
βOne of our townβs core values is: Open communication is essential to an engaged citizenry, so town government will seek and provide accurate, timely information and promote public discussion of important issues,β Davidsonβs public information officer, Cristina Shaul, said in a statement.

With the app, Davidson residents can:
- Get meeting agendas,
- Watch meetings live,
- View the events calendar,
- Access the town staff directory,
- Get information on dining, shopping, and lodging,
- Get parks and trails information,
- View parking and greenway maps, and
- Use SeeClickFix, a module that enables citizens to report an issue related to public services such as a pothole, an uneven sidewalk, overgrown weeds, etc.
The app also includes a βSeeClickFixβ feature that allows residents to report issues regarding public works, code enforcement or public safety, such as loose animals or traffic safety concerns.

βUsers can upload a photo and also βpinβ a map location in a report,β the town said in a statement. βThe system collects requests, distributes them to the appropriate town staff member, allows staff to enter them into a work flow queue, and communicates progress on the issue and a timeline for resolution for all users to see.β
