Wednesday Is Bike To School Day In Davidson

Davidson is celebrating National Bike To School Day Wednesday as part of a month-long celebration of healthy transportation.

DAVIDSON, NC -- The Town of Davidson wants to encourage local families to get out of their cars and walk or bike to school Wednesday, May 10 to celebrate National Bike To School Day. Schools throughout the area will be participating in the event that is part of National Bike Month, with parent volunteers and police officers on hand to help kids safely navigate traffic on their way to their schools.

“The Town of Davidson strives to be bike- and pedestrian-friendly and National Bike Month presents the opportunity to support the physical and social well-being of our citizens and the environment,” said Charlene Minor, who is Davidson’s natural assets and sustainability coordinator. “We encourage citizens to choose healthy transportation options every day.”
