10th Annual Vander Pig Cook Off

The Vander Civic Association Non Profit Association will be holding its 10th Annual whole hog pig cook-off.  We invite family and friends on Oct. 18 Friday evening to our Any thing Butt Contest.  This is a real fun event where you can judge from each cooker their special food dish.  Prizes go to the Best Desert or non desert dish.  The air is filled with music, smells from cookers and lots of down home fun.  After 8 p.m. the cookers will be handed their pigs and will begin cooking all night.  Saturday they will be judged by the N.C. Pork Council judges and cookers will be given their money and or trophies.  Sat. at 11noon we will be selling BBQ plates for $7.00.  All kinds of Vendors will be here as well.  All monies from this event goes totally back to our Community as we are a 501 c3 Non Profit Association.  Any one interested in cooking please contact Dennis Byrd at 910-483-2858.  He can give you a contact number if your interested being a Vendor as well.  Thank you
