Arrest made in murder of decorated Vet

Fayetteville police said they have made an arrest in the murder case of a decorated US Army veteran.

86-year-old Gerald 'Jerry' Gillespie was found dead inside his apartment on Briar Circle on Jan. 18. Family members asked for officers to check on him after not hearing from him.

21-year-old Jameel Malik Davidson was arrested in Miami by US Marshals. Police said he lived in the same apartment complex as Gillespie, ABC11 reports.

Davidson was charged with 1st degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
