BJ’s Charitable Foundation grants $48,825 to 7 Charitable Organizations in North Carolina

BJ’s Charitable Foundation announced the distribution of 7 grants totaling $48,825 to nonprofit organizations in North Carolina that focus on the health and well being of children and families located in the communities in which BJ’s Membership  Clubs serve.

All of the nonprofits that have been chosen to receive grants align with the Foundation’s focus of providing services in the form of hunger prevention, self-sufficiency, health care or education to those in need who reside in the communities where BJ’s Membership Clubs are located.

“Not only is BJ’s Membership Club extremely proud to serve our members, the company believes it’s equally important to support the communities in which we have clubs,” said Jessica Newman, Executive Director for BJ’s Charitable Foundation.  You can look to BJ’s Charitable Foundation to put a strong emphasis on giving back to local communities that support basic needs.”

Since its inception in 2005, the BJ’s Charitable Foundation has donated nearly $17 million to over 2,000 community organizations. BJ’s Charitable Foundation granted $709,625.00 to 112 Charitable Organizations last quarter to Help End Hunger, Improve Education and Self Sufficiency and Support Healthcare.  All recipients are 501(c)3 charitable organizations that support services in the regions where BJ’s Wholesale Clubs are located.

Education

Cannon Memorial Young Men's Christian Association, Kannapolis, NC: $5,000 to provide educational afterschool supplies for the Kannapolis Y Afterschool Program.

 

Communities in Schools of Wake County, Raleigh, NC: $10,000 to support the direct-service, program-related portion of salaries for part-time certified educators for the Make the CASE Program.,

 

Hunger Prevention

The CARE Clinic, Inc., Fayetteville, NC: $5,000 to purchase medical, dental and pharmacy supplies and bulk prescription medications for the Patient Care Supplies Program.

 

Chatham OutReach Alliance, Inc., Pittsboro, NC: $5,000 to purchase food for the SNACK! program.

 

Self-Sufficiency

Women's Resource Center in Alamance County, Burlington, NC: $7,500 in support of the New Choices Program, which pays for utility and rent deposits for clients.

 

Urban Ministries of Durham, Durham, NC: $8,325 to purchase food and bus passes for homeless veterans in the Journey Vet Program.

 

Turning Point, Inc., Monroe, NC: $8,000 to purchase food for the Turning Point Shelter Program.
