A White House Christmas and Holiday Stress
White House Christmas 2011 & Holiday Stress.
Sunday night was the White House Christmas special on HGTV! I love watching it every year no matter who is in office. All of the volunteers look like they are just having so much fun. I would love to be able to help decorate one year. Just think of how many strangers have to come together to get the whole house decorated in just 3 days! I hope no one reads into this too much, but I think Michelle Obama is my favorite first lady of my lifetime so far. She is always making things fun and has done many things no other first lady has done. She was even a huge part of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition they did right here in Fayetteville. She is so down to earth, great with kids, and always friendly and not intimidating at all. I think she had a great idea to have the decorators include the White House dog Bo in a sculpture in every room. Each was made using different mediums. I am a crafty person and animal person so this was the fun part for me.
On another note, anyone else feel like the holidays this year are overly stressful? I have ALWAYS loved Christmas, but this year I find myself wanting to just give in to all of the craziness and stress. My plan to get out of this funk was to go to church this morning with the family for the first time in a LONG time. We were unable to go since my dog hurt her only front paw (yes, she is a tri-pod, lol) last night and needed a bandage. If we had left her, the bandage would have been opened and we would have come home to quite the yucky mess in her kennel. I am pretty determined to go next Sunday. I think it would help calm our spirits and bring some positive into this house.
I am, most definitely, pulling for a calmer week. Hope you all are having fun this holiday season getting ready for which ever holidays you celebrate. May you be with the best of friends and the most family!
