Assumptions are evil.
Who gives someone the right to make an assumption about my family and then attack us?!
Christmas weekend was challenging. Paul's PTSD kept him up most of the night so I was left to deal with all of the last minute Christmas errands, plus still having to go to work. After a very long day full of presents, wrapping, errands, work, and watching my kids have so much fun at my in-laws, I came home to a major event. One that was very painful.
We have been fostering two puppies for the past two weeks who would have been killed if we had not taken them in. Even though we are not rich, we still have tons of love to give and were happy to open our home to these two beautiful puppies. During the course of the two weeks we decided that we really wanted to keep one so I let our contact within the organization know. When I spoke with her I asked if we could pay the adoption fee after January first because we had not budgeted the cost of adopting a dog into this months income.
I did not realize this would turn into such an attack on my family. When I got home tonight I had a one page long email from my contact basically telling me that she felt that we were not "financially secure" enough to care for the dogs on our own and that we would not be approved for adopting either of them. She then ended her email by saying if it was too painful for us to continue to foster the puppies that she could find them a new placement by the end of next week. What kind of a person sends something out like that on Christmas Eve?!

Who are you to say that I cannot afford a dog? Have you looked at my bank account? Do you know my finances? Do I seem irresponsible and not mature enough to know what I can handle financially? If you only knew what you just put my family through and these beautiful dogs through. The dogs are 100% attached to us and are now going to have to be torn away from us. There are no words to describe how upset I am...
