Book Review: Intro to Army Life

An "Intro to Army Life" serves as a great tool for Army spouses pointing them to a host of resources and organizations aimed to assist them.

There are all kinds of books calling my name when I walk into a bookstore. The small size and colors on the cover of "Intro to Army Life" caught my eye.

The book is written by Allison Mewes and her spouse is an Active Duty Army National Guardsman. Upon being married for 24 days her husband got orders for a deployment which left her back home with a sisterhood of other Army wives and neighbors who, too, had walked in her shoes years before.

Books like this have been done over the years and no doubt all have great tips and strategies for navigating military life.

What I liked best about this book -it's brief. Not page upon page of the author's own storied past. We all have heard those and have our own tales to tell for that matter.

This book provides an optimistic approach to the basics. Even seasoned military spouses not new to the Army can appreciate the tips and pages chock full of resources for families.
