Could crazy get any crazier?
You think your life is insane, just smile when you read about mine :)

It has been WAY too long since I last posted a blog here on Patch! So lets see if I can catch you all up in my crazy life :) For those of you who have not read any of my blogs before I am a wife to a disabled Veteran, mother of 3, employee to two companies, and a full time student. My children are Jonathan who is 8 and has Aspergers Syndrome, Abigail who is 4 and struggles with speech issues, and Maggie who will be 2 in March and is currently going through major medical evaluations through Children's Hospital in Washington DC for possible neurological issues. Gosh that seems like a mouth full but know that I wouldn't change any of my children and I truly believe God made them exactly how they were suppose to be :) In October 2010 my husband lost his job due to his PTSD taking over his life. From that moment forward our life and family has never been the same. We lost our home to foreclosure and now live in another town 45 minutes farther west from both of our families and my jobs. It took 3 years arguing with the public school system to finally get Jonathan his 504 plan even though by law with his diagnosis they have to give him a 504 plan. The move turned out to be a mostly positive thing because it has taken us farther away from the chaos of being near Washington DC and in an area where people are far more humble because well most of them are just as poor as we are. Jonathan has struggled his whole life to make friends and within days of us moving he made a great friend in our neighborhood!! I cried watching him play outside and having so much fun with his new found buddy!! As for Paul's road with PTSD, TBI, IBS, high blood pressure, blown our knee, and the numerous other things I could ramble off to all of you I am happy to say he is better then he was 3 years ago but I find myself angry thinking about how far he still has to go down this road of recovery. Oh a happy note after much begging from Paul I agreed to let him get a dog, now this may not seem like a big deal for a "normal" family but for one that already has so many stressors and complications just in daily life the idea of bringing a puppy into the mix left me feelings well less then excited. Even though I am not a dog fan Belle (named after the Liberty Bell) has turned out to be a positive force in our home. If there is anything I have learned in these past few years of chaos is that you need to take one moment at a time and truly enjoy every happy second you get with your family!
