Egg Knowledge: Recipe for Egg Dye
Make your own Easter egg dye at home with foods and spices already in your cabinet or 'fridge.

Sure it's easy to buy the kits with dye tablets, but you might have many of the ingredients on hand to make your own dyes with more natural hues.
Red cabbage - blue
Beets - pink

Tumeric - yellow

Blackberries- purple
Chili powder - orange
Coffee- dark brown
1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan, add desired veggies, fruits or spices as dye and stir well. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain and reserve liquid for dyeing.
Use large white eggs for best results, 1 Tbs. vinegar, 1 Tbs. salt, 4 Cups water
