Human Trafficking in Our Own Backyard?
Human trafficking in the U.S.- perhaps in your town.
I was shocked at the president's address on human trafficking on Tuesday afternoon. I always thought it was a problem taking place in third world countries.
Following his speech, I did some quick internet research only to learn that Atlanta is the number one spot for 'sex tourism' where businessmen fly in for the day and pay for services off a menu, selecting whatever age children they prefer. Disgusting. I can see why it's not talked about more, and I'm glad that our own government is tackling this and raising awareness on the topic. I'm surprised more churches are not on this. It seems sex and the pulpit don't mix too well, I suppose.
What's going on in our community, for volunteer efforts?
