Hunger Games

The much awaited movie is almost here. Fans of the trilogy series are already buying tickets for opening night.

Tickets went on sale this week at local theaters for Hunger
Games. The book trilogy has flown off shelves and is sure to be sold out at the
theaters on opening night, March 23.

While most of the book fans seem to be females, the
storyline will resonate with males as well and reminds me a bit of Arnold
Swarzenegger’s “Running Man”.  Hunger
Games is not so much survival of the fittest, rather survival of the smartest.
The movie portrays a dystopic view of a society that has been destroyed by
their own nemesis, a government sponsored reality like television show. The
show, called Hunger Games is mandatory within the community, played as a
strategic game to the death. The story was a real page turner and I hope the
movie will do the book and characters justice.

The content of the book series is wholesome and was originally penned by Suzanne Collins for younger readers. The books are even included in the
school library AR list.
