Are you looking for a great activity for your kids this summer? Stop by the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and pick up your Passport to America’s Hometown! When you visit Greater Fayetteville, you have a pretty serious decision to make: will you immerse yourself in our fantastic natural wonders, take a trip back in time at one of our many awe-inspiring museums or take in a live theater performance from one of our many venues?

No matter what you decide to do, you will soon discover that Fayetteville/Cumberland County offers you an endless variety of things to do while you are here. And the Passport to America’s Hometown offers you a small glimpse of some our best attractions!

Using the Passport to America’s Hometown is as easy as one, two, three. Pick up your passport at the FACVB, and select the attractions that you would like to visit. Once you complete your visits at each of the listed attractions, the staff will stamp your passport with their unique stamp to indicate you’ve completed their site. Each of the 12 locations featured offer a fun & educational experience for your kids (and you!)

Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau

We are a full-service convention and visitors bureau. The FACVB is a private, not-for-profit organization funded by the hotel occupancy tax. We assist leisure traveler, meeting planners, group tour operators, media and military reunion planners. Our staff members happily serve as the liaison between visitors and our local hospitality industry.

82^nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum

The 82^nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum tells the story of our beloved heroes in the All-American Division from its birth in 1917, to the battles of World War II, to the campaigns in Vietnam, Grenada, Panama and the Persian Gulf to the present. On exhibit, you will see Medal of Honor Recipient Sergeant Alvin York’s uniform and helmet. The museum had aircraft and memorial displays outside as well. Outside exhibit open every day dawn to dusk.

Airborne and Special Operations Museum

The Airborne and Special Operations Museum preserves the extraordinary feats performed by parachute and glider-borne troops and their brothers in arms, the special operations forces. By exploring the artifact displays, life-size dioramas, audio and visual features and motion simulator, you will gain a deeper respect for and pride in the remarkable achievements of these brave Airborne and Special Operations soldiers. This premier, state-of-the-art educational facility houses exhibits and programs that highlight the honor, courage, duty and heroic feats of this unique sector of our armed forces from its inception in 1940 to present-day operations.
