Uninformed Military Spouse Protesters
Many opportunities for wounded warriors and their families - are they taking advantage of them, or just ranting?
I was disappointed to see a few military spouses protesting stories on the Patch site yesterday.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I respect that. But speaking out against our city and Fort Bragg who have resources for the families of PTSD members? That's a shame.
The community opens their arms and pocket books for our wounded warriors and their families. Numerous events have been put on to benefit the wounded warriors. They show up at many of the fun runs in town - with their caregiver spouse, pushing or running along beside them.

So much of the attitude is entitlement. I get that some have sustained injuries to change their lives, but what resources are they taking advantage of? Last year there were meeting after meeting set up by Lt. Gen. Helmick and the command for wounded warriors and their families to be heard. How many showed up? The one I went to - 16.
A beautiful building was built complete with their own staff for the Warrior Transition Brigade families. Long before the election hoopla began, the Army has been 'right sizing' and trimming personnel. Have bad conduct in your background - probably not making the promotion list. Not continuing your education like other soldiers - might not look good at the board. The Army is not a holding tank for those unable to perform in their jobs, and there are many organizations in this town who hire wounded warriors.
