Worthless contractors

Note to self: if USAA recommends a company for repairs - be wary. I wish we would have subcontracted out the work ourselves.

The company we had to use because they met certain criteria with USAA, was terrible. The workers did not show up as scheduled and the quality of the work. My husband had to already go back and redo some steps behind them.

Contractors inflate the cost of materials and tack on extra costs. Sure it's legal but they are not worth it. Don't use the recommended businesses by USAA. Hire your own and take the check yourself. You'll save money on both materials and labor.

Does anyone have any positive stories when it comes to contractors. I have just heard about 'Angie's List'. I'm going to check it out.
