Breakfast is served

Horne's Deli Cafe has reopened as an "all-American diner" in downtown Fayetteville and is the new go-to spot for breakfast, and hot sandwiches for a quick lunch.

Horne's has a long history in Fayetteville dating back to the Civil War Days when it was originally, The Horne's Drug Store. The store was operated until its closing in 1978.

It was not until 1999 that the building underwent renovation and reopened as a deli. The decor featured vintage items, like an old vault safe from a storied past.

The restaurant has gone though management changes over the years and owner Kirk deViere opened it this past September with many of its former employees.

deViere is no stranger to the industry, he has owned Circa 1800 Restaurant and Bar downtown since 2009.

"The most popular breakfast is our omelettes", said Wade Boxleitner, one of the cooks. "We've done some potato pancake and bananas foster pancake specials that customers have raved about".

The staff who served us, Heather and Jenny, are both local residents who have worked downtown for several years and are glad to be open for business again.

"I love the people and the downtown feel that has evolved", said Jenny.

Heather was excited to be hired on as a cook by her former supervisor at Circa and loves seeing the regular customers who come in weekly for their breakfast and coffee.

Whether you fancy pancakes, eggs benedict or cheese grits, your breakfast is made to order and the coffee is hot! Loyal customers flock in for breakfast served up all day on the weekends.
