Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged a Fayetteville man with sex crimes against a minor.
37-year old Frank Lee Murphy of 2238 Shaw Road was arrested late last night according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer.
Investigators say Murphy’s 14-year old victim claims she was sexually assaulted between November 4, 2011 and November 6, 2011.
Murphy is charged with statutory rape and is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a 50 thousand dollar, secured bond. He was previously incarcerated on unrelated property crimes charges.
Murphy is expected to make a first court appearance on these latest charges today in the Detention Center Courtroom at 2:30 p.m.
