Cumberland County Schools Equipped To Include Deployed Family Members In Graduation Events

From Wednesday June 6 to Friday June 8, students from 12 Cumberland County schools will walk across the stage at Cumberland County Crown Theatre or Cumberland County Crown Coliseum to receive their high school diplomas. Due to military deployments, however, many of the graduating students will have not have parents and loved ones present for the event.

With ongoing deployments, the Cumberland County School System is offering a live Webcast of graduation ceremonies for all county high schools as a way to better serve the community and enable absent family members and loved ones to watch from afar.

Callie McLaughlin said the graduation event was looming in the back of their minds with sadness even as they said goodbye to her spouse when he deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division last year. Now, she is cheerful that he can share in the special event from Afghanistan.

Each school will receive a username and password that students can share with their intended guests.  Guests will visit this link to view the Webcast.
