UPDATE: Dead body found confirmed as missing Hope Mills woman

Investigation details determine death a homicide.

Early Monday afternoon it was confirmed that the body found by family friends near near the John McMillan Road intersection and Canady Pond Road was 50 year-old Edwardyne Williams, more commonly known as "Dynee".

Williams' white Isuzu Rodeo, found on Chickenfoot Road on Dec. 4 where her cell phone and housekeys were also discovered inside the SUV. Family members said her purse was found hanging on a nearby tree. Williams had been reported missing since Nov. 27.

Monday afternoon, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner did not release further details in the cause of death.

Homicide detectives are calling the death suspicious but no further details were provided as far as suspects go.

The family launched a Facebook page under 'Help Find Edwardyne "Dynee" Williams' last week and put a call out for help in the search that posted on Friday. Sentiments and condolences were left yesterday evening for the family.

Her daughters said last week that they suspected foul play in Williams' disappearance, but did not offer any clues as to who might be responsible.
