Film Showing on Bragg to Promote Awareness for Human Trafficking: Child Exploitation

The film Playground is executive produced by George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Steven Soderbergh.

The Fort Bragg Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., will screen critically acclaimed film, Playground. The film is to raise awareness about human trafficking and child exploitation. It will be played on post on Wednesday, May 23, 6 p.m. at the Main Post Theater.

May Week is the sorority's international tradition used to educate a chapter's
service community on a specific social issue, and the Fort Bragg Area Alumnae
Chapter will dedicate the week to educating the community about Human
Trafficking: Child Exploitation.

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion about human
trafficking. The Department of Defense has recently promoted an awareness on this tough to stomach issue and are targeting servicemembers to engage them against this battle. 

This is not just an issue happening in third world countries outside the United States. Earlier in May, in our own town, a 20-year old Fayetteville man was charged with trafficking a 13-year old girl for sex. His bond was set at 1.9 million dollars.
