Fire Investigators Search for Suspect

A firefighter was injured, suffering from burns as he battled the blaze.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Fire Investigators are searching for a Fayetteville man, who is wanted in connection with the burning of a former girlfriend’s residence.

On Sunday, May 20, 2012, 30-year old Rodolfo Rivera of 3282 Baywood Road allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, stole a computer and set fire to the residence, completely destroying the structure.  A firefighter was injured while battling the blaze and suffered burns to his left arm.  

Rivera had recently been charged with breaking into the same home.  32-year old Tanekia Britton of 3359 James Dail Road says Rivera was angry that she had company according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer.

In the meantime, Rivera is wanted on charges that include; breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods and 2nd degree arson.

Rivera is described as black male, five feet seven inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.  He has black, short cropped hair and brown eyes.  He is also known by the nickname “Two-Two” and has several tattoos on his body with the same moniker.
