For years the biggest — and some might say the only — drawback to a USAA Federal Savings bank account was having to mail in your deposits. So many military families maintained an account at a major brick-and-mortar bank just for deposits.
But, with a USAA branch bank about to open on Skibo Road in Fayetteville, many Fort Bragg-area military families may choose to close out their other accounts entirely.
USAA’s Fayetteville location is to open on July 30, staffed with employees trained to assist in opening checking accounts, starting an auto insurance policy and many of the bank’s other services. Members also can conduct videoconferences with specialized USAA employees for more in-depth assistance with services, such as financial planning, mortgage loans and life insurance. Additionally, on-site ATMs are available.
“Our legacy of exceptional customer service continues with this new center, giving members another way to access USAA products, services and financial advice,” said David Bohne, president of USAA Federal Savings Bank. “We are excited to bring a USAA financial center to the Fort Bragg area, which can serve our members' needs in the heart of their community.”
The new USAA Financial Center will be in the Skibo Station Shopping Center at 1590 Skibo Rd., Suite 100. It is open 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The center is closed on Sunday.
“Our members are counting on us to provide them with personalized service when and where they need it, and that’s what this center is all about,” said Elaine Bates, manager of the local USAA Financial Center.
USAA plans to continue opening financial centers in heavily concentrated military areas with the next center opening in Clarksville, Tenn., near Fort Campbell, later this year.
