Fort Bragg Employee, N.C. National Guardsman Died on Post Wednesday

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - A Fort Bragg civilian employee died Wednesday, May 9,
while playing racquetball at Funk Fitness Center.
Maxie Tolar, 55, who worked at the Mobilization and Training Equipment Site Facility on the installation.
"I am saddened to hear of the loss of Sergeant 1st Class Tolar," said Army
Maj. Gen. Gregory A. Lusk, the adjutant general of North Carolina. "Our
hearts and prayers go out to his family, and we will do whatever we need to
do to support them in their time of loss."
Tolar was transported to Womack Army Medical Center via emergency services
personnel where he was pronounced dead around 4:30 p.m.
Tolar, who also served in the North Carolina National Guard, was in an
inactive duty status. He was a sergeant first class assigned as a motor
sergeant to Headquarters, 139th Regiment (Combat Arms) located here on Fort
Bragg.
