Fort Bragg Farewells Garrison Commander

Col. Stephen Sicinski's efforts have left Fort Bragg a better place.

This past week, a change of command ceremony was held at Fort Bragg’s Main Post Flag Pole as Col. Jeffrey M. Sanborn assumed command of the Army's largest post. Sanborn, a recent graduate from the U.S. Army War College, will replace outgoing commander, Col. Stephen Sicinski.

Sicinski departs Fort Bragg after three years in command of the Fort Bragg garrison. Sicinski presided over the completion of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure movements, construction of the Warriors in Transition complex and leadership during the April 2011 tornado strike on the post. His leadership impact leaves Fort Bragg a better place. Sicinski's care for soldiers and involvement in the Fayetteville community will be missed. "I was just the face of the garrison team," he humbly said.

Lt. Gen Frank Helmick, former XVIII Airborne Corps Commanding General, and Mr. Davis D. Tindoll, Director of the Atlantic Region Installation Management Command, provided remarks for the ceremony.
