UPDATE: Fort Bragg soldier identified in last night's shootout
Fayetteville police and firefighters in a four hour stand-off that began late Friday night

The Fort Bragg soldier has been identified according to a WRAL breaking news report. 1st Sgt. Joshua P. Eisenhauer was the soldier involved in the stand-off and shooting incident. He is assigned to Fort Bragg's Warrior Transition Battalion.
Details are still coming together after a four hour stand-off ending with an explosive charge to a door used to get Eisenhauer out of his gated apartment community dwelling, Austin Creek Apartments, at Seventy-First School Rd. The incident between Fayetteville police and Eisenhauer began after 10 p.m. Friday night.
Eisenhauer apparently barricaded himself in an apartment and supposedly fired upon police officers after the fire department was called to a fire reported at 1137 Cape Harbor Court. Following the explosives used by police to get into the apartment, a robot was used to search for the shooter, found on the kitchen floor. Eisenhauer sustained injuries and was taken to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Later on Saturday Eisenhauer was transported to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Medical Center and was reported to be in critical but stable condition. The two officers involved suffered minor injuries according to the Fayetteville Police Public Affairs Officer, Gavin MacRoberts, and are placed on administrative duty while the incident undergoes investigation.
