Fort Bragg Special Forces Soldier Killed in Ghazni Afghanistan

This is the fourth soldier from Fort Bragg killed this week by an IED.

North Carolina has added another name this week to those killed in Afghanistan according to the Defense Department on Friday night.

Staff Sgt. Brandon Eggleston, age 29, of Eden N.C., was killed by a road-side bomb in Afghanistan on Thursday morning.

Eggleston was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group and this was his third deployment since joining the Army in July 2006.

Eggleston was a 2001 graduate of Morehead High School and attended Western Carolina University.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, and two children, who live in Raeford, NC.

According to a News 2 report, Eggleston's father-in-law said that he and his daughter, Eggleston's wife, are headed to Dover Air Force Base this weekend to bring his body home.
