Keefe Elected as Cumberland County Board of Commissioners New Chairman
Jimmy Keefe and Jeannette Council were recently elected as chairman and vice chairman, respectively, by the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners.

Cumberland County native, Jimmy Keefe was unanimously elected to serve as chairman for the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners. Keefe will be replacing 2012 chairman Marshall Faircloth. Commissioner Jeannette Council was also unanimously elected to the seat of vice chairman for 2013.
Keefe previously served on the Fayetteville City Council from 2001 to 2005 and was originally elected to the BOC in 2008. A graduate of Pine Forest High School and the Citadel in Charleston, S.C., Keefe served in the United States Army reaching the rank of captain prior to moving back to the county to work at a family business.
Council, a graduate of E.E. Smith High School and Fayetteville State University was first elected to the BOC in 2000 and has served as chairman twice. Council works as a pre-K coordinator for Cumberland County Schools.
