Kids in the Kitchen, Eat More Chicken
The Junior League of Fayetteville teamed up with Chick-Fil-A to teach about nutrition to kids
Families showed up Saturday morning to the Ramsey Street Chick-Fil-A location for the Junior League's annual Kids in the Kitchen event.
"For our Kids in the Kitchen project we decided to partner with Chick-Fil-A because their healthy, fresh food they serve", said Brittany Mullins, a member of the Junior League and former employee.
Taking the opportunity to teach kids about making better food choices, members of the Junior League of Fayetteville set up fun stations with punch cards to complete for participants.

Aside from the games, exercise and fun, the families had the opportunity to go behind the scenes inside the kitchen to see exactly how fresh the food is at Chick-Fil-A.
Cases of Sunkist lemons lined the shelves in the back where an employee was slicing lemons and using a Sunkist lemon press to get their infamous fresh squeezed lemonade that keeps customers coming back.

At another station was an employee rolling out fresh biscuits, and at another station an employee was hand breading the chicken breasts. We even had a peek inside the meat refridgerator and saw trays of whole chicken breasts being marinated in individual bags.
At the omelette station, rows of eggs in rectangular shaped molds held eggs being cooked for breakfast burrito and biscuit orders that were piling up as customers stacked up in the drive-thru.
"My favorite part was watching the chicken mini's being cooked, I love them!", exclaimed Brice Torteman, a second grader from Fayetteville.
