Linden Man Accused of Fathering Child with Minor

Cumberland County Sheriff’s detectives have charged a Linden man with the statutory rape of a minor.

43-year old William David Seaberry of 8681 Durant Nixon Road was 27 years old when he began a sexual relationship with his then 14-year old victim according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer.

Investigators say the encounters began on February 2, 1997 and continued through February 1, 1998.  A child was born as a result of the relationship on May 20, 1998.

Seaberry and his victim later married and produced five more children.

Seaberry has been released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a 25 thousand dollar, unsecured bond.  He will make a first court appearance on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Detention Center Courtroom.
