Michelle Murray's holiday appearances in North Carolina are part
of her national “My Finish Line” Premiere Movie & Music
Tour, sharing through her music the story of former IndyCar driver Sam
Schmidt, who became paralyzed due to a racing accident in 2000. He went
on to create the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation which works to find a cure
for paralysis, and is co-owner of the IndyCar team Schmidt
Peterson Motorsports. Michelle became a spokesperson for the Foundation after
hearing Sam’s story and wrote a song about him titled "It Won't Be If, But When”. She subsequently starred in the film, “My Finish Line”, an inspiring original
documentary that tells Sam's story through Michelle’s music. A number of
attendees at these events will receive a free DVD of the film, thanks to BraunAbility, Bruno
Independent Living Aids and participating local dealer Mobility Works.
