Gingrich trying to build momentum for May 8 primary in North Carolina.

Acknowledging that Mitt Romney had a good day after sweeping five more Republican presidential primaries on Tuesday, Newt Gingrich vowed to keep campaigning in North Carolina through the week. Fifty-five delegates are yet to be determined in North Carolina's Republican presidential primary on May 8.

Gingrich plans to visit more than 10 cities in North Carolina in the next five days, including Fayetteville. On Friday, he is set to speak to the Cumberland County Republican Party downtown at the AIT Building before making an appearance at the 30th Anniversary Dogwood Festival.

Before Tuesday, Romney had won 698 of the 1,144 delegates needed to become the nominee whereas Gingrich had only 137 delegates.
