According to authorities the cause of the fire is still under investigation and details have not been released. The 91-year-old home, in Hope Mills, located on Pecan Drive, had no glass left in the window frames and the roof on the right side of the two-story residence appeared to have been completely destroyed.
After escaping the blaze by jumping out her second story window with her husband, Chief Warrant Office 2 Edward Cantrell, the 37-year-old military spouse ran next door to call for help.
