Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux's Military Unit to Host Awareness Event Thursday Night

Members of missing soldier Pfc. Kellie Marie Bordeaux's 44th Medical Brigade will come together to "Take Back the Night" Thursday evening ending with a candlelight vigil.

The 44th Medical Brigade SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program) Team will host the awareness campaign at 7 p.m. on the softball field behind the brigade's headquarters.

The event will include a 1.5 mile sexual assault/sexual harassment awareness
walk, along with a candlelight presentation on the devastating effects
sexual assault/sexual harassment can have on the community.

Additionally, Dr. Sharon Cooper, CEO of Developmental & Forensic Pediatrics,
P.A., will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Cooper spent 21 years
in the Armed Forces retiring as a colonel and has for the past several
years, worked in both the civilian and military arenas in child abuse and
developmental pediatrics.

The "Take Back the Night" event will demonstrate to the public how the Army
and Fort Bragg is aggressively working to educate both military and civilian
personnel on how to identify trouble and intervene to prevent or report
crimes as it relates to sexual assault/sexual harassment.
