Prune Like a Pro

Plants need a little TLC to keep them in tip-top shape for years to come. Yearly pruning helps decrease disease and promotes plant growth.

Join Cumberland County Cooperative Extension agent Jason Weathington on Jan. 26 as he provides a virtual workshop on how to properly prune. Viewers will gain pruning confidence as the host walks through the essentials of pruning plants in your landscapes.

When: Jan. 26 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Virtually via Zoom

The workshop is free, but registration is required. Register with Eventbrite or contact Susan Johnson at susan_johnson@ncsu.edu or call at 910-321-6405. Before the event, participants will receive an email with the Zoom link and information on how to access the workshop.

Registration ends Jan. 19 at 5 p.m.

Bluebird and Bluebird Houses

Being able to observe bluebirds in your backyard requires providing proper nesting boxes to attract them.

Watch Cumberland County Cooperative Extension agent Kenny Bailey on Jan. 28 discuss bluebirds and demonstrate how to build a bluebird house.

When: Jan. 28 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
