Ring In Cold Weather with Ice Hockey

FireAntz games are popular venues for date night and for families alike.

With the cold weather Fayetteville has been experiencing, now is a great time to warm up to Fayetteville FireAntz hockey. The calendar is full of good Southern Professional Hockey League games between now and March.

Home games are played at the Crown Coliseum and ticket prices range from $5 to $25. January dates include the Mississippi RiverKings Jan. 13 and 14, Mississippi Surge Jan. 20 and 22 and Knoxville IceBears Jan. 24. The FireAntz play host to six home games in February and four home games in March.

Fans will enjoy three periods of fast-paced action, performances by the Heat Dantz and Promo team and other entertainment, including mascot Anthony the Ant.

Plus, they will get to see new faces, as new coach Sean Gillam and his team, which only has a few holdovers from last year, takes to the ice. This year's team is off to a 7-17-2 start, but kicked off 2012 on a high note.

The Antz defeated the Huntsville Havoc 5-1 on New Year's Day and have their sights set on an improved new year.
