Search Officially Re-Opened for New Fayetteville Police Chief
The hiring process will include public meetings scheduled for Thursday, Sept 13 and Tuesday, Sept. 25.

The search is on for a new Fayetteville police chief. The job opening is currently posted and will remain open through Friday, Oct. 5. The City has sought assistance in the selection process and has hired Developmental Associates, who will hear from community members on Thursday, Sept. 6 as part of an organizational assessment that will guide the hiring process.
Public meetings are scheduled for Thursday, Sept 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers located at 433 Hay Street and again on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Westover Recreation Center located at 267 Bonanza Drive. Residents wishing to make public comments at one of these meetings may sign up in advance with City Public Information Officer Jennifer Lowe or at the venue prior to the meeting. City Manager Ted Voorhees will be present on both dates to answer submitted questions.
