Spirit Halloween Store is a Local Destination

It's that time of year again

Military families hoping to catch the spirit of the Halloween season don't have to travel far past the Yadkin Road gate. Spirit Halloween is located in the old Goody's store off Lake Valley Drive in Fayetteville next to Skibo Road.

The current location consists of everything Halloween, making it an annual fall destination.

"We spend alot of money making the store feel like a haunted trail or haunted house," said John Dickerson, store owner. "We spend alot of effort making it a fun place. Some kids will come in every weekend. They say hi to me everytime they come in."

The store features accessories, props, decor, animatronics, makeup, costumes for children and adults, wigs, knick-nacks, rats, spiders, smoke machines, smog machines and sound effect machines, along with other items.

In the sixth year of operation, Spirit Halloween is a 20,000 square foot megastore that is now able to focus more on convenience by having 12 dressing rooms and shopping carts. Previously, the store was housed in two different locations on Glensford Drive and on Skibo Road near Texas Roadhouse. The current location also has television and a sofa for relaxation.

"People enjoy the convenience and we have more space now," Dickerson said.

The store opened Aug. 24 and stays open until Nov. 1. Regular hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the store is open late the weekend leading up to Oct. 31.
