Surveillance photo released of bank robbery suspect

Authorities released the surveillance photo showing a clear image of the bank robber responsible for robbing the First Citizens branch on Tuesday when a man in dark clothing and hat entered the bank handing the teller a note before taking off with money, the amount unknown.

The robbery occurred around 3:40 p.m. at 130 Grove Street and the man is thought to have driven away in a light blue colored sedan.

The authorities are asking for assistance in identifying the man in question in the photo by calling Fayetteville police at 433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 483-TIPS.
