Teen identified upon recovery from Fort Bragg lake
A local high school student's vehicle and body was pulled from Boundary Line Lake on Jan. 1

The body of 17-year-old Brenton Briggs was recovered from Boundary Line Lake off of McArthur Road on Fort Bragg shortly after 9 p.m., Jan. 1.
Fort Bragg Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports at 8:20 p.m., of
a vehicle in the water near a boat ramp on the lake. The car they were in reportedly slid off a boat ramp into the water, and Briggs could not escape in time. He was there with friends, but further details have not yet been released. Responders used a boat to search the lake and recovered the body.
The death is under investigation by Special Agents from the U.S. Army
Criminal Investigation Command.
According to Briggs' Facebook page, he was employed at G.O.O.D. Music, a record label, and attended Reid Ross Classical High School. Officials at Reid Ross were not available for comments. Briggs would have turned 18 on Feb. 26 and his family and friends have already created a condolence page sending their sentiments.
