Video footage released by Fayetteville Police - they need your help

Pfc. Chad Patrick Dellit's murder on Sept. 21 is under investigation and the police hope to get some tips from the public.

Delitt Homicide Surveilance Footage [HD]The Fayetteville Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest in the murder of Chad Dellit. Surveillance footage taken from the scene is available for viewing on the department's Youtube page,www.FPDBluelightTV.com and at the department's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/fayetteville.police.

In the video are three segments: • 1st segment- The person of interest is in the upper left corner of the screen. This segment was filmed approximately 1 hour before someone called 911 to report hearing a gunshot. • 2nd segment- The person of interest walks across the parking lot approximately 15 minutes after the 1st segment. • 3rd segment- The person of interest is seen running across the top of the screen. The footage was from around the same time when someone called 911 to report hearing a gunshot, looking out a window, and seeing a person running away.

The person of interest is described as a black male, wearing a white long sleeved shirt and dark pants. Homicide Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are asking the public to call them if they recognize the person of interest or remembers seeing a person wearing a similar outfit and/or walking like the person seen in the video. The number to call is (910) 587-3254 or Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477). Update (9/23/2011) The victim in this case has been identified as Chad Patrick Dellit, W/M, 22. Press Release (Homicide) At approximately 11:08 p.m., Officers responded to 1727 Skibo Road "Inn-Keeper Hotel" in reference to a subject down. Upon their arrival, the officers located a W/M who had been shot in the head lying on the ground. The victim was deceased at the scene and detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are working this incident. The name of the victim will be released later this morning by OPS&I pending next of kin notification.
