Virginia Man Charged with Child Sex Crimes with Fayetteville Girl

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Christiansburg, Virginia have arrested a resident there on warrants obtained by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer.

42-year old Brent Ashley McKinney of 1018 Ridgeway Drive, Christiansburg, Virginia is charged with taking indecent liberties with a 12-year old Fayetteville girl. The alleged encounters occurred between September, 2004 and July, 2005.  McKinney was 35 years old at the time.

McKinney is also facing similar charges with additional victims in Virginia.  On April 13, 2012 he was charged with four counts of having sex with a child 15 to 17 years of age and five counts of aggravated sexual battery with a child 13 to 17 years old.  He was being held without bond in the Western Virginia Regional Jail.

McKinney will be extradited to Cumberland County to face his most recent charges.
