PHOTOS: 'Wear Blue' Runners Hit the Streets and Trails in Fayetteville

A Memorial Day tribute honoring the fallen and their families.

To commemorate and honor those who have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice, individuals from Fayetteville and Fort Bragg pledged to run miles to meet a goal.

Some ran in neighborhoods, other joined the Meet up group at the Cape Fear River Trail running the four mile out and back shaded loop with like minded citizens. A group also met in Southern Pines to run for the fallen.

Even the kids were out this morning to pay tribute to the fallen. Alma Easom first grader, Bo Sanderlin wanted to run in honor of girls' dad from his preschool class that was killed.

The goal of 'Wear Blue' across the U.S. was to run 6,460 miles - a mile for every life lost in the Global War on Terror. Thanks for doing your part Fayetteville and Fort Bragg.
