• Laney runs through Topsail for conference win, 34-6 (wwaytv3.com) — A packed homecoming crowd in Hampstead saw Topsail fall 34–6 to Laney in Friday’s Carolina Coast Conference matchup. Laney’s strong offense and a pick-six from cornerback Joe Deffinbaugh proved too much, though Topsail freshman running back Kyle Albert provided some bright spots. The evening also celebrated Topsail’s marching band, recently chosen for the 2028 London New Year’s Day Parade.
