1 Person Shot, Killed Inside Huntersville Walmart: HPD

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — One person is dead and several others are in police custody for questioning following a deadly shooting at Huntersville’s Walmart Monday evening, according to Huntersville Police Department.

An officer conducting a security check at the store heard gunfire and immediately took an individual into custody, HPD said in a statement on social media. “Several other individuals were taken into custody at Walmart as well due to an altercation,” the police department said.

According to WCCB, a man was fatally shot in the produce section of the store around 6 p.m.

“At this time there is no reason for the community to feel unsafe as we believe all responsible parties have been taken into custody,” HPD said.
